Clothing Production
In Togo, most young women without a school-leaving examination become either a dressmaker or a hairdresser. In both jobs, earnings are very modest because prices are poor and there is a lack of customers. For this reason, we began making dresses together with a group of young togolese dressmakers and an invalid tailor to sell in Switzerland. This branch is still small, but is taking a pleasing development. Products are only sold privately.
All saleswomen in Switzerland work on a voluntary basis so that the total net profit after deduction of transport and V.A.T. can flow back to Togo.
